Press Release – Monday 30th July 2018

Lindisfarne regret to announce the retirement of Charlie Harcourt from the band.

In a statement this week, Charlie said: “It is with a heavy heart that I’m having to retire from Lindisfarne due to health issues. It’s been a pleasure and a blast working with Rod, Dave, Paul, Steve and Ian, all tremendous musicians and thoroughly nice guys. All the travelling, hotels and so on just became too much for me so I have had to ‘hang up my rock’n’roll shoes’.”

Speaking on behalf of Lindisfarne, Rod Clements said: “Though Charlie has been playing like a demon – as always – his ongoing health issues have made it impossible to continue as a member of a touring band. He has battled on long past the point when a lesser soul would have thrown in the towel. We wish him a long and happy retirement and will remain in touch as friends. Charlie’s musicianship and character are irreplaceable and Lindisfarne will continue as a 5-piece.”

Good luck Charlie – thanks for the music, the hospitality, and your company. It’s been a gas.
